The company was founded in 1956 in the peaceful town of Wigratzbad in the Allgäu region.

Following a major warehouse fire in 1960 and a devastating traffic accident involving a crucial truck, a new truck was purchased and the office building in Wigratzbad was expanded in the following years.

The company achieved substantial growth with the start of sponge production in 1981.

In 1990, production was relocated to the Czech Republic and gradually expanded to include fully automated manufacturing. This enabled the production of additional high-turnover product groups. This was a historic milestone in the company’s long history.

To meet growing demand and market standards, the company’s headquarters were relocated to the newly built administration and warehouse building in Hergatz, Allgäu, in 2015.

In 2021, Sito was taken over by the Bierbaum Group, which is based in Borken in the Münsterland region, as part of a succession plan. This ensured the company’s continued existence.

Sito has been under new management since 2022. Various innovations and technological adjustments have been implemented at the two production facilities in Pelhřimov and Vyskytná in the Czech Republic, and changes have been made to the product range. Furthermore, warehousing was relocated from Hergatz to the Bierbaum Group’s headquarters in Borken.

In 2023, the sales and administration team relocated from Hergatz to Wangen im Allgäu.

Sito will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2026. Over the years, the company has grown considerably and is now recognised as a reliable and competent partner for businesses in the industry. It has established itself as a market leader in professional cleaning equipment. It is characterised by its comprehensive product range, personalised advice, and professional order processing.
