On 1 October 2024, the Bierbaum Group took over the company B+S Haushaltswaren in Wald-Michelbach.

B+S, a specialist in the production of cleaning sponges with flame lamination, optimally complements the Bierbaum Group’s existing production processes. With flame lamination, foam and fleece are bonded using heat alone, in contrast to bonding. With around 60 employees and an annual turnover of 9 million euros, B+S significantly strengthens the Group’s market position. The production site in Wald-Michelbach will be continued unchanged by Bierbaum.

B+S originally stands for the names of the founders Bihn and Sickinger, who separated in the 1990s. At the time, Sickinger founded the Sito Group based in Hergatz/Baden-Württemberg and subsequently expanded it to include a production site in Czech Republic. The Sito Group was acquired by Bierbaum in 2020. Both B+S and Sito produce and distribute sponges, albeit with different technologies and sell to different customers. With the two companies, the Bierbaum Group is now broadly positioned in terms of technology and markets.

The Bierbaum Group, based in Borken, Germany, is active in the Cleaning and Living divisions. Bierbaum achieved a turnover of
€ 91 million in the financial year ending in March. Bierbaum employs 250 people at its main plant in Borken and a further 150 at its site in Czech Republic. The Group also has sales locations in Wangen im Allgäu and Chicago/USA.

The Bierbaum Group, which has been family-owned and based in Borken for 130 years, feels closely connected to the Borken location and is continuing its successful growth course with this step and remains a reliable partner for customers worldwide. With this strategic expansion, the Bierbaum Group is further expanding the product portfolio of the Cleaning division and increasing its innovative strength.
